How a private safari works for families with small children, which safari to pick, and what to tell us before you go.
Why a private safari suits families
Every Khat Tourism safari is private: your own Land Cruiser and driver, for your family only. Nobody else shares the car, so the day can run at your children's pace. Our drivers are used to small children, and baby seats and boosters are available on request.
When you book, tell us your children's ages so the driver keeps the dune bashing gentle. Please also tell us if anyone in the group is pregnant or has back, neck or heart problems.
Which safari to book with children
Kids-friendly safari (Dubai)
Planned around small children, with baby seats on request and drivers used to little ones. Pickup is between 2:30 and 3:00 PM and the trip lasts about six hours. It includes hotel pickup, baby seats and boosters on request, sandboarding, live entertainment shows, and soft drinks and water. Quad bikes are available to rent; falcon photos and alcoholic drinks are not included.
Morning safari (Dubai)
Out early while the dunes are cool, and back at your hotel by late morning. Pickup is between 7:30 and 8:00 AM and the trip takes about three hours, with dune bashing, sandboarding and a camel ride. It is a good fit for hot days. See our morning safari guide.
Abu Dhabi family safaris

If a sandstorm, heavy rain or a government weather warning stops the trip, you can move it to another day or get a full refund. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before pickup.
